March 6th, 2024, Hangzhou, China. Farizon New Energy Commercial Vehicle Group and Cainiao Group announced a strategic cooperation agreement on Tuesday. The agreement leverages Cainiao's global logistics capabilities and Farizon's expertise in new energy commercial vehicle R&D, manufacturing, and ecological operations. Together, the two companies aim to explore new overseas business models and promote the application of Chinese new energy commercial vehicles worldwide.
Farizon New Energy Commercial Vehicle Group, the commericial vehicle sector under Geely Holding Group, is China's first commercial vehicle group focused on the new energy sector. Its product lineup covers a wide range of commercial vehicles, including heavy trucks, light trucks, mini trucks, LCVs, and buses, with active overseas market expansion efforts aimed at creating a second growth curve. The group has already achieved initial vehicle deliveries in the UAE and completed its first export to Turkey in January, accelerating its global market expansion.
Cainiao Group is a global leader in e-commerce logistics, having built a comprehensive global smart logistics network. Its Five-Day Global Delivery service already covers 10 countries worldwide, with ongoing efforts to expand further.
According to the agreement, globalization is a key focus. The cooperation extends beyond cross-border and local transportation of vehicles and automotive components to jointly expand into overseas markets. Through joint operations and resource integration, the two parties aim to promote the application of new energy commercial vehicles in overseas logistics scenarios.
Both parties are exploring potential cooperation in Europe. Cainiao already possesses end-to-end capabilities, including international trunk lines, port-to-warehouse services, overseas warehousing, and local distribution. With nearly a decade of development, Farizon has secured orders covering regions such as Europe, Asia-Pacific, South America, and the Middle East, continuously expanding its market share and enhancing its international influence, thereby facilitating the green transformation of the global commercial vehicle industry.
Furthermore, focusing on aspects such as vehicle leasing and capacity services, the two parties will jointly develop customized new energy vehicle models to accelerate their application in Cainiao's self-operated logistics scenarios. In the field of logistics technology, Cainiao's logistics technology department has collaborated with Geely to create a digital OTWB system (comprising order management, transportation management, warehouse management, and billing management systems) aimed at jointly expanding overseas clientele.
Regarding ESG, both parties will strengthen exchanges and cooperation in carbon reduction, cost reduction, efficiency enhancement, and green development, collectively committing to promoting enterprise transformation and industrial structure upgrading.
